Alwin's interest in computers emerged just before he chose a career in secondary school. And so he thought: "Computer scientist, that would be it". With luck he found an apprenticeship in Fribourg (in French of course ;) ). He enjoys working with customers to find solutions to complex problems, which he finds both challenging and exciting.
What he likes about Tegonal is that we have the freedom and responsibility to plan, decide and take care of each other as a team. He always tries to pass on input from outside to the team and let it flow into our decision making. In his free time, he is involved in the Warmbächli housing cooperative and the "Tour de Lorraine". His bike accompanies him not only to the office, but also to the Alps and mountains.
As per holiday tradition Tegonal has dedicated a total of CHF 10,000 to support a number of projects and organizations.

One activity in our Open Source Week was to Open Source a simple helper we use everyday and wrap it in a way it can be integrated with no effort in all of our projects and also by any other interested person.
Tegonal is a team of software developers in Bern and was founded in 2004. When Tegonal was founded, most of us were still far from thinking about being a father. This changed a few years later. After the first of us had announced his paternity, the discussion about a longer paternity leave came up.
Our aperitif for clients, partners, friends and family has been held at the end of January for years. This year too, January is unfortunately not the right time for events of this magnitude. Existing applications have been supplemented and updated and are now connected to a Kubernetes environment on Azure via Apache Kafka.

Since 2016, Swisscom has been hosting our web applications on the CloudFoundry platform. Recently, however, we have experienced an increase in failures, and we believe that Swisscom is no longer prioritizing webhosting.
We have converted Tegonal GmbH into a cooperative with retroactive effect from the beginning of January 2022.
