Alwins Interesse an Computern stellte sich gerade noch vor der Berufswahl in der Sekundarschule ein. Und so dachte er: "Informatiker, das wär's". Mit Glück hat er damals in Fribourg eine Lehrstelle gefunden (natürlich in französisch ;) ). Ihm gefãllt die Zusammenarbeit mit Kunden um passende Lösungen für komplexe Problemstellungen zu finden, was er gleichermassen herausfordernd und spannend findet.

Ihm gefällt bei Tegonal, dass wir die Freiheit und die Verantwortung im Team planen, entscheiden und aufeinander Acht geben. Er versucht immer wieder Inputs von aussen ans Team weiter zu geben und in unsere Entscheidungsfindung einfliessen zu lassen.

In seiner Freizeit engagiert er sich bei der Wohnbaugenossenschaft Warmbächli und der "Tour de Lorraine". Das Velo begleitet ihn nicht nur auf dem Weg ins Büro, sondern auch auf Alpen und Berge.

Alwin's interest in computers emerged just before he chose a career in secondary school. And so he thought: "Computer scientist, that would be it". With luck he found an apprenticeship in Fribourg (in French of course ;) ). He enjoys working with customers to find solutions to complex problems, which he finds both challenging and exciting.

What he likes about Tegonal is that we have the freedom and responsibility to plan, decide and take care of each other as a team. He always tries to pass on input from outside to the team and let it flow into our decision making. In his free time, he is involved in the Warmbächli housing cooperative and the "Tour de Lorraine". His bike accompanies him not only to the office, but also to the Alps and mountains.

Since 2016 the CloudFoundry platform, offered by Swisscom, has been hosting some of our web applications. Lately, the number of failures have increased and we got the feeling that webhosting within Swisscom was slowly being pushed aside, or not prioritized.

When the quality of the services deteriorated last year, we began searching for a better match for hosting our web applications. Our feeling has now been confirmed: The cloud platform will be shut down at the end of November 2020. One of the most affected projects was OpenOlitor. OpenOlitor is an open source management platform that helps in the management of Community Supported Agriculture (CSA) groups.

We didn't just want to migrate OpenOlitor to another platform, we wanted to use the opportunity for simplifying the operation of the application. Also, we wanted to make it easier for anyone interested to test and try out OpenOlitor on their own infrastructure while facilitating participation in future developments.

We approached these goals by packing the OpenOlitor components in Docker images and a customizable 

. We are now using this to deploy OpenOlitor on the

We are convinced that we have now found a good solution for the next few years and at the same time we have taken a step forward within the OpenOlitor project.

Since 2016, Swisscom has been hosting our web applications on the CloudFoundry platform. Recently, however, we have experienced an increase in failures, and we believe that Swisscom is no longer prioritizing webhosting.
