Mikel's lifelong passion for technology & free tech is fulfilled at Tegonal, working in unison with team & clients.

Mikels Interesse an Computern begann in der Schule mit einem Pentium 100 und Windows 95. Er hatte noch nie eine Tastatur benutzt. Doch als er einmal die Maus in der Hand hatte, gab es kein Zurück mehr. Mikel landete bei Tegonal, nachdem er zunächst durch Spanien, Frankreich, die Tschechische Republik und Irland gereist war. Unterwegs lernte er noch zweieinhalb weitere Sprachen und erlangte einen Doktortitel in Luft- und Raumfahrttechnik.

Trotz all dieses Gepäcks gab es immer zwei Schlüsselkonzepte, die ihm wichtig geblieben sind: freie Technologien und Technologie für Menschen. Tegonal passt gut zu Mikels Interessen, denn die Arbeit in diesem Team umfasst den direkten Kontakt mit dem Kunden, die Nutzung neuester Technologien, Raum für Arbeit mit und für freie Technologien und die Arbeit mit Vereinen. Er schätzt besonders das Umfeld, in dem Entscheidungen gemeinsam getroffen werden.

Mikel's interest in computers started at school with a Pentium 100 and Windows 95. He had never used a keyboard before. Once he had the mouse in his hand there was no turning back. Mikel landed in Tegonal after first journeying through Spain, France, the Czech Republic and Ireland. En-route he picked up another 2 and a half languages and successfully completed a doctorate in aeronautics.

Even with all this baggage there have always been two key concepts that have remained, free technologies and technology for the people. Tegonal is a good fit for Mikel's interests because working with this team includes direct contact with the client, using the latest technologies, space to work with and for free technologies and work with associations. He particularly appreciates the environment where decisions are made together.

This year Tegonal took part in the free and open source software conference FOSDEM 2020. Every year this conference congregates developers and contributors from all over Europe (and even further) to present their projects: Linux kernel, decentralized Internet, Kubernetes hacking, open source project sustainability, etc. We had a great weekend getting inspired by so many amazing people working in free software projects and sharing their experiences and knowledge openly.

At FOSDEM 2020 we were invited to let everyone know about CSAs and
