Bei Robert hat alles mit in Word/VBA geschriebenen, kleinen, textbasierten Adventure Games angefangen. Damals war für ihn noch nicht klar, in welche Richtung er sich beruflich entwickeln wollte. Er hat sich schlussendlich für eine Lehre als Mediamatiker entschieden und so auch Einblicke in die visuelle Gestaltung, Kaufmännisches und Telematik erhalten, zusätzlich zu den dominierenden Informatik-Themen.

Am Beruf des Software Ingenieurs interessiert ihn, dass man zu Business-Problemen Lösungen kreieren kann und seinen Teil dazu beiträgt, dass Prozesse und Arbeitsabläufe einfacher werden.

Es motiviert ihn Tools zu schreiben, die Entwicklern das Leben vereinfacht und somit einen wichtigen Beitrag leisten. So zum Beispiel die expectation library Atrium, die Kotlin Entwicklern erlaubt, bessere Tests zu schreiben.

Robert gefällt bei Tegonal, dass jeder mehrere Rollen einnehmen kann, je nach Projekt und Situation. Primär ist er als Expert Application Engineer und Architect unterwegs, zieht aber auch immer wieder mal den (technischen-) Projektleiter-Hut an, fungiert als Scrum-Master und versucht neue spannende Projekte zu akquirieren. Des Weiteren gefallen ihm die flexiblen, selbstbestimmten Arbeitszeiten/-pensen/-orte. Dadurch lässt sich Familie und Beruf zu 100% vereinbaren. Im kleinen Tegonal-Team kennt sich jeder und der genossenschaftliche Gedanken, der sich durch alle Bereiche zieht, motivieren ihn, sich bei Tegonal mit den Kollegen gemeinsam weiterzuentwickeln.

Er ist Vater von 2 Kindern und spielt - gefühlt seit ewig, meint er - Trompete. Er ist Mitglied der Musikgesellschaft Giffers-Tentlingen.

For Robert it all started with small text based adventure games written in Word/VBA. At that time it was not yet clear for him in which direction he wanted to develop professionally. He finally decided to do an apprenticeship as a mediamatrician, which gave him insights into visual design, business and telematics, in addition to the dominating computer science topics.

What fascinates him about being a software engineer is the ability to create solutions to business problems and to do his part to make processes and workflows easier.

It motivates him to write tools that make life easier for developers and thus make an important contribution. For example, the expectation library Atrium, which allows Kotlin developers to write better tests.

One of the things Robert likes about Tegonal is that everyone can take on multiple roles, depending on the project and situation. He is primarily an Expert Application Engineer and Architect, but also occasionally dons the (technical) project manager hat, acts as a Scrum Master and tries to acquire new exciting projects. Furthermore, he likes the flexible, self-determined working hours/stints/locations. This makes it possible to combine family and career 100%. Everyone in the small Tegonal team knows each other, and the cooperative spirit that runs through all areas motivates him to continue growing at Tegonal together with his colleagues.

He is a father of 2 children and has played the trumpet - for what seems like forever, he says. He is a member of the music band Giffers-Tentlingen.

Now we transferred some financial support to following 10 projects:

 (Association founded by Sarah Jamie Lewis who brought the security issues of Postfinance evoting to public)

 (One of the main OS alternatives to android. Cause we are tired of not having a cell phone alternative.

 (Command line tool and library for transferring data with URLs)

 (Open Source, functional, modular and friendly Scala libraries)
