We were asked to extend the data analysis software Metabase for Swisscom with an adapter for Teradata.
Metabase is open source and written in Clojure. Clojure is a Lisp dialect and mainly a functional language. The language is very beautiful; it impresses with its coherence.
The biggest obstacle in implementing the adapter was and remains the proprietary database system Teradata. Testability outside the proprietary machine is difficult. For this reason, the review process together with Metabase is prevented and the associated pull request is still open.
The resulting Teradata driver may of course be used without warranty.
