Metabase is an open source data analysis and business intelligence tool. It enables people in organisations to explore, visualise and gain insight from their data without requiring extensive technical knowledge. Metabase allows users to connect to diverse data sources, create interactive dashboards and generate meaningful reports. With a focus on accessibility, Metabase aims to make data analysis accessible to non-technical users and to promote data-driven decision making across all teams.
Our customer Swisscom has been using this tool for years. Some of their systems use the Teradata database. Teradata Database is a powerful and scalable relational database management system designed to handle and analyse large volumes of data. However, there was no driver available for using Teradata in Metabase.
Swisscom asked us to create this driver, which, like the other drivers, was released as open source. The person responsible for writing it was Thomas Rawyler.
On the technical side, Metabase is written in Clojure.
