OpenOlitor: 10 years and more than a million vegetable baskets

Our first major open-source project is celebrating its birthday today! Exactly ten years ago we published the first commit on GitHub initiating OpenOlitor. It was the start of a success story: in 2016 the ERP system for subscription models went live. To date, the CSAs, farms and projects for which we provide hosting in Switzerland alone have delivered more than 1,000,000 baskets of vegetables and other products. This does not include the many other OpenOlitor installations, for which we have no data.

The longevity of the software platform was an important factor in the architecture of OpenOlitor from the very beginning. Security vulnerabilities of components used can be handled quickly by updating to the latest versions. Nothing currently stands in the way of many more years of successful operation.
